USB Host Controller for LPC2148

Started by Marilou May 16, 2012
Hello everyone!
Has anybody tried to interface LPC2148 with a USB Host Controller?
I have an existing project that is almost complete except for the USB Host Controller.
CH374 was the first option but there are not enough resources for the codes of this host chip.
If anybody has tried, I would appreciate advices and tips and sample source codes, if possible.
Thank you very much.

Regards,
Marilou

An Engineer's Guide to the LPC2100 Series

Hi Marilou,

Advice: take sample source code for a host controller from NXP and just make it better.
Note: we invited young programmer for this job.

So, you are looking for a more capable external host controller chip? The LPC2148 itself doesn't support USB Host and you are faced with trying to read/write an external controller fast enough to keep up with USB.

You can Google for 'usb host controller chip' and maybe you will find something. I didn't know what your requirements were so I didn't search very far.

If I were doing the project, I certainly wouldn't be using a chip like the LPC2148. I would want a chip that already had a USB Host peripheral and probably a DMA controller. And I would use the availability of source code to determine which chip manufacturer to select.

Also,

When I placed the order, the total cost was of 48USD, in this manner there
would be no Customs cost according to the brazilian laws. Suddenly my card
was billed 60USD as freight costs, unadvised.

So, from a 48USD expect purchase, it has became a 200USD purchase.

It is unacceptable, if there was something written on the website about
freight costs being applied latter I'd have not bought it.
