hey i dnt know more about the msp430.so can u plz send me whole c code if possible...i wana jst sense the temperature from lm35DZ and wana show it on the lcd 16*2 or the sevensegment...if possible plz help me... i have to do it in this week..so i have no enough time to read the whole msp430 book....if you send me the C code it will b very easy to understand.... :)

Talks about lazy!!! "can u plz send me whole c code if possible..." If you want to plagarize code, at least make a minimal effort and google the msp430 and ADC. While I don't believe there are any sample programs featuring an interface for the lm35 to the msp430, there are tons of examples of ADC conversions from a temperature sensor. The task is about as simple as it gets, at least for someone who believes "the C code it will b very easy to understand..."
What you want to do was my first ever project as a hobbyist (lm35->2013-ADC->FG4618->LCD). I think it took less than 3hrs for me to figure out, and I'm no "C" expert, and had never worked on ANY microprocessor before.
Sadly, there is no DoMyWork key on any keyboard...

Obviously you are still in the stone age, with an archaic keyboard.
EVERYBODY has a "do my work for me" key don't they?

Kind Sir,

> Obviously you are still in the stone age, with an archaic keyboard.

Though I am loathe to admit it, you are exactly correct. My keyboard, a genuine OEM IBM Selectric Style, has a manufacture date of 20 Nov, 1986! It has been somewhat of a challenge to keep it connected to the newer technologies (AT->PS2->USB adaptors); it's still my most happy favorite, bringing me hours of typing pleasure. And, my 90 year old mother would both recognize, and love, the touch this keyboard offers. No squishy, feedback-disabled keys here; it takes a real punch to get the keys in contact with their, uhm, contacts...

Long live real keyboards! :)

Crikey Bob,

how do you make a keyboard last that long! I must burn one out
every couple of years at the very least. Usually when early morning
(late night) coffee meets shaking hands and sends the keyboard for a
swimming lesson. I probably couldn't use one that required more than a
feather touch anyway. But there is much to be said for old fashioned
robust engineering.

Cheers

I've found that Coke, (that is, Cola, not caine...) is both a very effective glue and acid, when it comes to keyboards.  Luckily, I hate Coke, but I've had to clean more than a couple keyboards my coworkers have bathed their keyboards in...

BTW, I have the VERY, VERY beginnings of my Nurse Bob Video blog up.  My original goal for this weekend was something like 8 videos.  I managed one, split into three segments (I think that's like using a 14point font and double-spacing to make the paper look longer...).  Of course, I originally thought I'd have real content up last November. So it goes.  Anyway, if you have an interest, visit www.nbvblog.org - let me know your thoughts.  Constructive criticism pondered, all else ignored. :)

Best Regards,

Bob

BTW  Maybe, now that I've got a start on this project, and I THINK I have most of the technology under control, I just might be able to get back to my EE projects that have been mouldering down in my lab/garage!  I'm finding I miss the aroma of the magic smoke and hot resistors.
