Ti LACK OF SUPPORT?

Started by Onestone May 21, 2012
Another gripe, just when I thought I'd found a use for the FRAM parts,
Ti go and tick me off again. I veered away from Ti's Rf parts some time
ago. the CC1100 was so loaded with critical Errata, and Ti never fixed
them, the Cc1101 was as bad. Now I'm looking at moving back because the
CC112x looks like a nice part, and fits with my small is good ethos. So
I went online loking for info, got the data sheet and UG, looks
promising, then tried downloading the 868/915MHz reference design, only
it doesn't exist. They do have refdes with the 1190, but I don't need
that, and the matching circuits will be different. So having searched
diligently I thought I'd contact Ti support. Their tech support used to
be excellent, answers to email on pint and quick. (It's been a while) so
when I tried technical support I get routed to the Asia page. Doesn't Ti
know that Australia is NOT a part of freakin Asia?? Anyway the main
issue is that there is no contact for emial support in Australia, and
the last time I tried using one of the Asian links it led to chaos. I
might just stick to Microchips RF gear, at least they offer support still.

Here is one for the cc1120
http://www.ti.com/tool/cc1120em-868-915-rd

This is the link for the cc1120 eval module
http://www.ti.com/tool/cc1120emk-868-915

Here is one for the cc1125
http://www.ti.com/tool/cc1125em-cat1-868rd

Thanks Timothy, I actually found the first one, but for me the file
didn't load at first. The second one looks like a Quick start for the
EVK, the third one I never came across at all.

Help much appreciated.
