LCD 4x20 and ascii

Started by Don Lewis December 18, 2003
I recently got the LCD4x20 from Netmedia and am so far pleased with it.
I have learned it is as easy to confuse as am I. :)
Sometimes streams of random ascii data blow it away. In the
documentation there is no mention of the allowable ascii range of values
and what they might equal. I expect it pretty much duplicates the
7-bit ascii values so the ascii charts will suffice. What of the
values above 127? What is good and bad in the high range? Is there
any danger in the low range?

Thank you for any related advice,
Don Lewis

The PDF file (link below) contains a list of 26 control
codes (01 to 1a hex) that do various things. See page 7.

Thanks Don, I have that info. Perhaps I was unclear before.
I am refering to displayable ASCII characters.
