F2808 Flash programming via RS232

Started by mfar...@ferrari.it November 20, 2006
Hello everybody,

I'm using an eZdsp starter kit for TMS320F2808.
I'm trying to program flash memory via RS232, using SDFlash utility or CodeSkin C2000Prog.
I have set the board for SCI Boot Mode.

The problem: after DSP power reset, the utility (SDFlash or C2000Prog) starts sending the autobaud character 'A', but the DSP doesn't echo back the character, so the utility cannot start the the boot data stream transmission.

What can I do?

Best Regards,
Mario Farina.
Hi Mario,
Have you double-checked that the bootloader-mode is configured correctly?

GPIO18: Pulled High (100 k)
GPIO29: Pulled High (100 k)
GPIO34: Low

I have never worked with the eZdsp2808 - does the board provide an
appropriate RS-232 drive chip? Otherwise you will have to add one
(MAX232 for example).

Cheers,
Beat
