Hello, Since the Atmel STK500 is much cheaper in the US than in Europe (79USD in the US, around 120EUR in Europa are the prices I found) I'd need a recommendation for a good webshop in the US. Of course it should be cheap ;), reliable. Shipping and handling shouldn't be too expensive (to the US, not to Europe; I'd ex-/import it myself). Thank you very much for any hints and tips! Regards, johannes

Yes, it is a little bit expensive (EUR159.-), but the Chameleon POD can works as - a STK500 for AVR - a Raven JTAG for all ARM, MIPS, XSCALE ... - a Wiggler JTAG for all ARM, MIPS and many more - a DownloadISP for all Lattice FPGA, CPLD - a ParallelCableIII for all Xilinx FPGA - a ByteBlaster for all Altera FPGA, CPLD - a true I2C Master controller - a true SPI Master controller The Chameleon POD is based on programmable logic. So it can emmulate all actual parallel port dongles. It is a Generic Dongle Solution ! Of course it should beMaybe try www.dontronics.com. All the US-based places I can think of will charge you a LOT for shipping. Or I can buy one for you and mail it via USPS :)

If you ship something from the U.S, then the VAT may be added by your local customs officer... In sweden, the VAT is 25 %. At www.elfa.se, the ATSTK500 is 97 Euro. -- Best Regards, Ulf Samuelsson ulf@a-t-m-e-l.com This is a personal view which may or may not be share by my Employer Atmel Nordic AB

(~50 USD). PCB are not heavily with tariff yet. Perhaps, the custom offices don't want to bother with low cost items.

I didn't know a German Digikey website existed. 18 Euros shipping, 13 Euros handling charge (for orders under 100) - still cheaper than the other sources I knew. Thank you very much, and thanks also to the other people who replied! Regards, johannes
