WTD: I386EX jtag emulator

Started by hamilton March 26, 2005
I have googled for an hour now, but the i386EX family does not seem to
have a jtag emulator/debugger available.

Is this true ??

AFAIK, the i386EX family doesn't support any sort of JTAG control. Without the capability in the processor, there's no way to build an emulator. There used to be a number of companies, back in the day, including HP, Softaid, and Sophia(?) that made full-function ICE emulators for the i386EX and other variants. Sadly, those days are gone. There are still some logic analysis solutions. AL

Microtek also made emulators for the 386EX. They sometimes show up on eBay. -- James T. White
