IAR - watch window to clipboard/file

Started by Darren Logan April 1, 2014
Hi all,

Does anyone know if there's any way to save the contents of the IAR (v5.30) watch window to
Windows clipboard or a text file?

Thanks
Best regards,

Darren

Beginning Microcontrollers with the MSP430

The hard way:

1 - To capture the monitor screen, press and hold ALT key then press the Pr= t Scr (Print Screen or system request key).
2- Open Windows Paint program then PASTE into Paint.
3- Cut, CROP, Modify as you wish then SAVE.

The easy way:

Go to this web site, download the program called lightshot:

http://app.prntscr.com/download.html

Install, it will be an icon in Windows tray (the image of a feather). Clic= k to this icon and you can capture any portion of the screen and a lot of too= l for you to modify.

Hi,

Sorry, I didn't explain myself properly.

I meant to say that I want to copy the text in the watch window, not an image of it.
Best regards,

Darren
You may try SNAGIT as I read on the internet. I don't have SNAGIT so I don'= t know how it work.

I use Snagit to capture text that is not selectable. Snagit is a screen snapshot tool (a very good one). Besides making classic screen shots it supports to capture text and save it as ASCII text. It can also automatically scroll windows to capture long texts.
Maybe it is worth a try. There is a 30-day trial version available.
