eth0 : link down problem on AT91RM9200

Started by ms April 8, 2009
hello all,
I have made a customised version of AT91RM9200-EK_Rev_A01 board from atmel.I have davicom DM9161AE connected as PHY in RMII mode and pulse engineering pe1012 as pulse transformer. when I boot linux on this board, linux boots properly, it detects DM9161AE ( I have confirmed it by disconnecting 50MHz clock to 9161AE and then it gives mesaage PHY not detected). But after booting it gives message " eth0: link down". I have connected the other end of ethernet cable to a hub. The hub also does not detect the link ( link detect led not glowing). I have checked the cable by conncting it to a PC and with same HUB, in this case Hub detects link (link detect LED glowing), and file transfer also happens between two PCs. I mean the Hub and the cable are OK.
Also if I do self pinging (ping to the IP assigned to this board, throuh console) it is OK, but if i ping any other IP, ping fails.

has anybody faced this type of problem.

Any solutions/ suggestion are most welcome.

thanks in advance.
