Running HiWave using wine

Started by "Jim...@googlemail.com [68HC12]" November 11, 2015
Hi Nigel

I've got it working on windows!!

Which is a start, I promise I will stop bugging you, but I've just got one
more question.

Can you use NoICE from the command line?

I've emailed them but since the website was last updated in 2012 I'm not
super hopeful of getting a reply.

Anything you can give me will be greatly appreciated, even if its a yes/no
answer.

Thanks again
Jim

Jim

Hi John

Thanks for the reply, quick question, can I run NoIce for a .BAT script?

I can see anything suggesting I can from the website?

Thanks
Jim

I am not quite sure what you mean by "run NoICE /*for */a .BAT script"

You can run NoICE *FROM *a .bat script. As the Help topic "Running
NoICE" (http://www.noicedebugger.com/help/general.htm#RunningNoICE says:
NoICE may be invoked by any standard Windows method. If a file name
is specified in a Windows Shortcut or from a command line:

C:\NoICE\NoICE51.exe "C:\foo.noi"

that file will be OPENed
by
NoICE. If the file or path contains a space, you must
enclose the file name parameter in quotation marks.

Of course you can omit foo.noi (or whatever) if you just want to run NoICE.

If you want NoICE to burn something like a .s19 file, you could specify
THAT file on the command line, since load/burn is the OPEN action for
files of that type (as would be shown if you clicked the OPENed link in
the live help). If you use
C:\NoICE\NoICE12.exe C:\myfile.s19
to run NoICE, NoICE will start, initialize the target, and load/burn
myfile. NoICE would then be waiting for your further commands: it is a
full debugger, not just a Flash burner.

If your compiler generates elf/dwarf debug output (or other formats
listed in the help), you can open them in NoICE to do source-level
debuggingg.

You can also have NoICE *RUN *files of NoICE commands (traditionally
using the .noi extension).
Among the available commands are LOAD, which could burn your .s19 file.
You might use a command file to load/burn your file and do other related
operations

If you install NoICE, it includes a searchable .chm help file with the
same content as the help on the web site. You may find that helps
answer some questions.
