I have an old RFID reader that is based on U2270B chip from Atmel (previously from TEMIC). It seems any kind of info about this IC are disappeared on Atmel web site. There are only documents and info about RFID transponders, but not the readers. Is Atmel producing this IC yet? Is there a new modern device to use for RFID readers?
What happened to RFID readers IC U2270B from Atmel?

What I don't know is if this IC is in current production or not. I think it's an old product, so I'm finding a good alternative for a new project of a RFID reader.
