They are pretty low cost <$5 but the Sharp ARM9s also fit the bill and have a bit more grunt if you want to pay the extra.

We have not done BGA yet... then again the 0.4mm pitch TQFP on the 79520 was a bit of an adventure. Did not help that *someone* designed the prototype PCB for 0.5mm, by mistake. Ahem. It is still the single largest cause of production problems so perhaps BGA would end up easier anyway. -- John Devereux
