3 phase AC drive using LPC2136

Started by Mukund Deshmukh June 24, 2008
Dear All,
Just wondering if LPC2136 has any issues for 3 phase 1/2 HP ac drive
application.
Any comments?
Any one used it?

Warm Regards,

An Engineer's Guide to the LPC2100 Series

Dear Mr Deshmukh,

Are u going to generate PWM pulses with LPC2136?

Yes, and some a/d work, couple of PID loops etc.

I wish to if there are any issues with LPC2136 to work in noisy environment?

dear Mukund Deshmukh,
Dont think there would be an issue as long the design is good.
Which algorithim areyou plannin to implemet, Vector control.?
regards
Raj

Stellar has some devices built for motorcontrol. Might be easier to
use. WARNING: I have never used them. So please investigate
thoroughly.

Dear Deshmukh,

I am using a LPC2138 for phase control of an ac-ac converter (W3C
topology). I have faced lots of problems and non-conforming (to the
specs) behaviour. All problems are in the area of match events and
the corresponding interrupts, especially 2 events occuring
simultaneously or very close to each other. None of this non-
conforming behaviour is documented and one has to discover on his
own.
More over LPC2000 series do not have SVC and dead-time generation
modules. I think, these 2 modules would be very helpful for a
inverter drive

We plan to use IR2133 for IGBT driving, so dead time will not be problem. We
need a good PWM and some ADC stuff from LPC2136.
My only worry is about performance of LPC2136 in noisy environment (e.g.
switching frequency of 20Khz.)

from where did u get IR2133. I had been finding itdifficult to get IR2136 as my driver IC. None of the distributorsencourage me in getting a fewNo.s of ICs. .
Wthat about PWM and ADC is worryin you. Dont have them in ur controller.
