IP Forwarding/Routing between Ethernet and serial PPP on RCM3000

Started by Peter December 30, 2003
Has anyone attempted or been successful in adding IP routing
functionality to the IP libraries on the rabbit? I want to be able
to route packets back and forth between a serial PPP interface and
the Ethernet interface on an RCM3000.

It seems that it would require some tweaking to the IP.LIB and
possibly some of the other libraries to implement this functionality.

Anyone know if rabbit has this planned for future released of DC?

Thanks in advance!

Peter

It's been talked about a couple of times in this forum.  I've looked at it also, but only from the point of view of the rabbit as having the destination address on a different interface (not a real router.)  That was a pretty simple hack inside the appropriate lib (I think I just needed UDP).  A real router needs a whole bunch of other stuff I didn't need to realize.  Dunno if rabbit is thinking about it.

I am looking to do a fairly simple implementation - no RIP or ICMP -
just forwarding of IP packets using static route tables.

i'll be interested.
