Hi I'd like to share some of our experiences implementing a SMTP-Application using a serial modem. Please see my other Threads in http://www.modem-gsm.de/forum for detailed descriptions of our problems with the Telit modem. We startet with the Telit Modem PCS-Version. After some time we had major problems with the internal timing in the modem. Some at-Commands must be handled very... Experience report: Using Modems für GSM/GPRS M2M Solutions

Hi. I have a friend who is looking for a small demo board for the CC430F6147. He's looking for a minimal system, just the basic parts to get it to run, with a PCB antenna and a few points to connect to a SPI peripheral. He's doing a feasibility trial for a product and is hoping to avoid the fussy RF layout required, and the expensive assembly of the 0201 sized passives. The demo board from TI i... I have multiple C programs each doing the same piece of functionality. I want to evaluate/calculate which of these has a lower power consumption( on ARM) Is there some tool(simulator) with which I can simulate and get the number of power consumed and compare the same for each of the programs on desktop? Based on this I will decide which of these apps I will finally put on the ARM. ---... power consumption

In most DIY stores you can find these cheap Chinese digital timers to turn you lamps or appliances on at specified time. The thing I'm wondering is, how do they power the digital circuitry from 110VAC in a device costing only $5-$10? Are they using a transformer or are they directly powering the digital circuitry from the AC voltage? ... Low cost mains power supply

Hi fellow forum-goers, I'm trying to add a general-purpose CAN to UART function to an LPC2129 setup. CAN1 works at 250 and 500kbps, so I modified my code to add CAN2 but am experiencing difficulty. I'm hoping one of you gurus is willing to look over my configuration. CAN2 is supposed to be "scalable" to any of several baud rates, but I am testing on 33.3kbps on a SINGLE WIRE network. I am us... I've redesigned my little prototyping PCB for the DIP8 LPC810, adding a jumper to enable bootloading and a 3x1 connector for Flash Magic downloading (TxD, RxD and Gnd). The Gerbers have been sent off to ITead. If anyone wants one of the old PCBs, please send me an email with your address. The LPC810 doesn't seem to be available for sale, but you might be able to get some samples out of ... LPC810 update
