Sorry, Paul. You've been very helpful in the past to me in all my problems
as I was learning to work with the Rowley compiler and the CrossConnect. I
probably shouldn't have implied any ignorance of slang on your part --
since you put up with it enough from me in the past on my Rowley problem
reports. It's just something that came out when I saw "Because that's
the price they set for it?" Sorry.

No worries, no offence taken. I'm quite laid back. Literally. :-)

Laptops don't have PCI. PCMCIA parallel ports are $50+.
I never thought of them. I wish you had mentioned that a couple of years ago. ...Oh, yeah, the topic hadn't come up... good reason. 8-)
This opens up a whold new world. Thanks, Paul.

Hi,

PCMCIA (CardBus) is the same as PCI. So I think laptops do have PCI. ;-)

The Olimex clone wiggler is really inexpensive.

It is over-priced. Atmel gave me one with an evaluation board at a
seminar when they launched their ARM chips.
I designed a copy of it which costs about $20 to make, I think the PCB
design is in the Files area. Mine works at a much higher speed than the
real thing, which has a badly designed PCB.

There weren't many JTAG interfaces available when they developed it. It
was some years ago.

Laptops to NOT have a "PCI card slot" like a desktop PC. So there. 8-b

Hmmmmm... $20 at mouser.com....hmmmm... AND they work with the Rowley interface. Cool. So maybe, just maybe, I can directly talk to the NewMicros.com NMIN-2106-USB-1 20-pin JTAG without an adapter with a pile of pull-up/down resistors. OK, you sold me. My order is in. Thanks.

I beg to differ. I specifically mentioned CardBus.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PC_Card
"CardBus is effectively a 32-bit, 33 MHz PCI bus in the PC Card form
factor".

Heh price does suck then but Parallel still has it advantages... I can make a
wiggler for about under $10 heh
Oh yeah im opening shop.. http://atomsofttech.com/store/
Will be sure to make a wiggler and put it there soon

I'm not really sure you should be admitting to coping someone else's
design! My GOD! Two days wining about the price of a JTag ... this forum has
really gone down hill. If you don't like the development industry then go
do some thing else. People's time and effort for development and
manufacturing are worth money if you don't like the price of something then
don't buy it. I can't believe you work in this industry and complain
about a lousy $150.
