hi, still new at BX-24...I am trying to send out MIDI data, using the information I found here. Unfortunately, instead of sending out what I intend to send out I send out a lot of nonsensical data on various MIDI channels (program changes, now and then a 'note on', after touch, etc...but mostly system resets). I tried 2 circuits, one with the 2n2222

I'm trying to make a drum trigger to MIDI converter with a BX-35. In order to communicate at MIDI's baud rate of 31,250 I was thinking about either using the normal 7.3728Mhz crystal on the BX-35 and using a MAX3100 with a 4Mhz crystal or something close to communicate. But I've read that using SPI can cause a lot of problems. Would it be easier to simplify thing

I have a working BasicX-24 system which takes keyboard on/off messages and creates MIDI messages to an electronic keyboard. This has worked fine for over a year. I am creating a 2nd system to convert MIDI messages on the fly for a friend who has a non-MIDI Standard system. I need to transmit MIDI data @ ~32000 baud from a BasicX-24 over a distance of ~20 feet (could be line of sight if needed). I would prefer not to have to modulate/demodulate a carrier unless it can be done very inexpensivly.
