I noticed some discussion on this subject in 2006! Was there a conclusion on how best to read and write to Atmel dataflash from LPC? I am about to interface AT45DB041 to LPC1766. The NXP documentation described the CSEL chip select line as an input. The Atmel protocol requires the line to be used to bracket transfers. I could use a GPIO pin to drive the CSEL on the dataflash, but don't understand ...

Hi Everybody! Im a new in the world of ARM, im previosly use 8051-compatible form Atmel, Z8000 & PIC's. I need to choose between NXP LPC2148 and ATMEL AT91SAMS256, two uC that seems to be very similar. I live in Argentina (by the way, sorry for my bad English!), and the cost of OLIMEX Starters Kits are similar for the two options. One thing I love from ATMEL is th LOW Prices, but...

Hi- I am having probles with the LP32138 SSP (SPI) interface to an Atmel dataflash (AT45DB161). I believe it has to do with the chip select implementation. To read the status register of the Atmel dataflash, for example, the device requires an opcode 'write' followed by a 'read'. The write works fine, but the 'read' fails. I believe it is failing because the chip select gets deasserte...

Hello! I heard that LPC chips are suceptible to damages caused by bad voltage on some pins when chip is turned off etc, while atmel arm cores are not. I didn't test it myself but heard it from a friend of mine that is really good in electronics. Is that true? Are atmel chips more resistant to harsh environment, overvoltages, swapped pins, etc? Any info appreciated :) Regards, T...
