My OS is Puppy Linux. I'm running MPLAB through WINE instead of Windows. My programmer is a PICSTART Plus. I'm using a USB-serial converter to connect the PICSTART Plus to a USB port on my laptop, which lacks real serial ports. I can figure out the port my PICSTART Plus (with the USB-serial cable) is attached to by typing "dmesg|grep tty" in a shell window. (It's ttyUSB0.) THE PROBLE...

I may have posted this before but can't find a response I'm having a problem connecting MPLAB to my PicStart+ (with upgraded firmware)...

I may have posted this before but can't find a response I'm having a problem connecting MPLAB to my PicStart+ (with upgraded firmware) via a USB port. I'm using a Keyspan USB to Serial adapter and have the correct com port assigned. Can someone help me with this ? May laptops only have USB for the serial connection so it must be a common problem.
