Hello, Does anyone know how much can cost IAR C for a single 8-bit platform? http://www.iar.com/index.php?show=850_ENG&&page_anchor=http://www.iar.com/p850/p850_eng.php How can I buy it ? IAR C seems to be by far the greatest C compiler for embedded platforms, at least for the weaker 8-bit platforms like '51 and PIC. Hi, I have solid background on GNU tools -but IAR... anyway How to extract a HEAP pointer in IAR C/C++? I have my own malloc routines (i don't use stdlib), so I need that value from xlink. Trick like -D_hea=3DHEAP and in C extern _hea; .=2E .=2E printf("%x",&_hea); doesn't work :) (but it works for -D_hea=3D123) Maybe someone with bigger IAR background could help. Thanks fo...

Having an IDE to work with is great, but is IAR worth the bucks? 1 - will it save that much time? Including learning time - especially for someone used to IDEs like Visual Studio? 2 - are there opportunities with the MSP430 to earn back the cost of IAR? 3 - are there any good IDE front ends for mspgcc? Just starting to use the TMS470R1B1, which is a high-temp, high-rel processor with the ARM M3 core. At the customer's insistence I'm using the IAR IDE, and interrupts are all f***ed up. Even the IAR demos don't work, and the register definitions in the ever-so-easy-to-find files don't match the documentation or, apparently, reality. I'm trying to figure out how much of this is me, h...

I'm trying to get up and running on the MCB2130 using IAR Kickstart to build and FlashMagic to load the code. Do I need to write my own startup code for this configuration? Since I don't have a JTAG adapter that's compatible with IAR, I have to build a flash-resident app and serial-load it, but of course I'm operating 100% blind. For test purposes I just copied some stuff out of blinky.c a...

Does anyone know of any third party development tools for the Atmel AVR32 family besides IAR? We just got in some EVK1100 development boards bundled with Atmel's AVR32 Studio and a crippled version of IAR Embedded Workbench. The Atmel suite seems pretty hideous and non- intuitive, and the IAR single seat license is 4000 bucks! Is there anything else out there? Thanks, Bob

I'm looking for compile ucos-ii RTOS port to the Philips LPC2129 with the GNU Compiler. The code available on www.micrium.com site is, instead, intended to be used with the IAR Compiler. Am I not able or...
