Hi, I've got a rather specific request for help with the Linux commands for the Arcom Aim104 PC104 relay board. My situation is that I am a research scientist with essentially no Linux experience. Luckily I have a couple of colleagues who do know about Linux. Between us, we are setting out on an embedded computing project to try and automate some lab equipment. I badly wanted to move away from ...

using PC104 with 16bit configuration. What size is an address? IE. if i write 0xABCD to address 0x1234, did I infact write AB to 0x1234 and CD to 0x1235? I think this is how ISA handles IO writes, but im not sure. So when I write 16 bits to an odd address I actualy get 2 writes to teh bus? Can anyone confirm this? Thanks Mike D. miked@dodgeit

Writing an Embbeded Linux app for a PC104/Versalogic board. Linux 2.6.14.17. Using write() to transmit data packets to another PC104 board. If I write() 30 bytes, sometimes there is a 2-5mS gap in the middle of the transmission, usually at about byte 15-20, but sometimes at byte 29--as seen on a scope. Tried using low latency setting when opening the port--but this made no difference. This...

hi, is there a way to increase the number of PCI boards connected to a PC104+ motherboard to more than 4? Are "PCI bridge" known to do this job or not? Are there any PCI-PCI bridge board in PC104+ format? Are there some low power 3.3V PCI bridge chip? Are PCI bridge transparent to the application so that the software developper (Windows OS) do not care if the PCI board is behind...

i hope this is not OT. I need to port an application for pocket pc on a single board computer. The huge problem is gprs connectivity, on the pda(eten p300 gsm/gprs) i can easily connect using pocket pc API. How can i reach this on a sbc? Is there a ready to use solution, with integrated gprs(with wince installed)? Maybe a pc104 sbc with a gprs pc104 module? Thanks in advance Andrea

For prospecting, I use a GPS connected to a PC104 through the serial port for reading the data. At the moment Iam just using windows 95. Is there any other operating systems around and software that can read the data from a GPS or other scientific instruments that plugs into the serial port and manipulate to give high resolution graphics from the data that is being read. Thanks Clay ...

Supported by an off-the-shelf PC104 type card for an industrial PC (master) 5. Easy to implement in HW (slave) Anyone got any ideas? CANBus comes close, but isn't fast enough. Cheers TW

We are designing a PC104 format system that sends out a stimulus sample from an array and then A/D's the response. It repeats this process 5000 times a second for about 10 secs. We are using an Apex Status X A/D/A board with Matlab and the Real Time Toolbox, selecting the drivers for the MCC board CIO DAS1602/16. This works just fine. No problem. But now we need the C program version, bu...
