Hi, I've recently started development with a Philips LPC2103. I know Atmel has a site, AT91.com, which I found useful for AT91SAM stuff. I'm looking for suggestions or recommendations on websites/forums that discuss using the LPC21xx parts. I did the Google search already but ended up at sites that archive "the real" forums. If it makes a difference, I'm planning on using the ...

Hi, I'm just wondering if anybody has had any problems with the Philips PCF8563 RTC. I've devised a simple unit test which does the following: 1. RTC seconds, minutes and hours registers are initialised to zero. 2. Continuously samples the RTC (at 1 millisecond) and reads the seconds, minutes and hours registers 3. Each register has an associated counter in software, which is incremente...

Hello. I've a problem with LPC2103. I've two boards. The first-one is a Silica Demo Board with a Philips (with Philips logo) LPC2103. The second one is a home built board with only a NXP (note not Philps marked!) LPC2103 and just supplies and xtal. I've a Keil uLink and I use uVision3 for Arm. So, I can program both MCUs and everything works well. Unfortunately I can debug just only the ...

I don't know what sort of 8051 it is inside. The clock line XTAL1 is driven directly fr...

Hi, I am using the Philips PDIUSBD12. I am polling the device since I cannot use the interrupt pin. The part seems to work most of the time though it occassionally gives bad IN packets during enumeration. I also can only poll the interrupt register once after enumeration to see if I am getting an OUT packet. If I poll the interrupt register after enumeration then I start sending bad or inv...

Hello, I am about to use a P89c669 in a design with external program memory. Problem is that the manual states that EA pin either disables external program memory when held HIGH, or disables internal flash when EA is held LOW. The feedback I got from Philips is that when EA is held HIGH (???) both external and internal memory can be used in a mixed mode. So the big question is, if I wan...

Is is possible to buy hobby quantities of Philips microcontrollers in the UK? I just tried the UK distributor, eurodis, who told me they have a minimum order of 100 uk pounds. It's so easy to buy PICs that I was complacent about getting another kind of micro- I spent a lot of time learning the 8051 instruction set before checking that I could actually buy these chips. Hello Folks, The Philips ARM series had been out of my price range but the LPC2101 finally seems to be in reach, meaning under $2 in quantity. Now if one wants to try it out which kit would work? I'd have no problem if it was for another one of the ARM chips as they seem to be quite compatible. The only kit for the lower number parts I found at Digikey was the KS2106 LPC210x Kickstar...

We'd like to use the Philips LPC2114 in a new design (we need 8 capture channels, a serial port etc.), but all the dealers say the lead time is 24 weeks. We can't possibly wait this long to have a pilot series manufactured. Is there any place where we could buy, say 50 of these MCU's _now_ or do we need to use some other chip? I would consider using the new Atmel AT91SAM... chips, but the...

I was looking at the Atmel AT91R40008 for a new design. However I realised it dosen't support I2C. Does anyone have a recommendation about how to interface a real time clock, and maybe a serial eeprom. Is an I2C bus master a sensible approach, perhaps from Philips? The main objectives are low cost and good availbility. regards, Johnny.

Hi, We have to tackle a new job that is going to use VOIP. I am wondering whether the ARM7 series from Philips would be up to the job or if it would be better to go the PC-104 route. Hello ! Can anyone direct me to a good guide which explains the differences between "common" microcontroller pin types, such as "open-drain" or "push-pull" etc ? The reason I'm asking this is that I'm trying to connect a TEA5768HL's SWPORT1 to a C8051F320's input port pin and I'm not sure how I should do it to make sure it works correctly. I've contacted Philips asking them the same ...
