I know that I've seen a TI document about this before, but a 15 minute google search left me with nothing. I am double-checking a schematic that uses an MSP430F149, and I want to ensure that I have all the pins correctly terminated for (1) correct operations and (2) access to the JTAG port for in-circuit programming and debugging. Here's what I've got: AVcc -- 3.3V DVcc -- 3.3V DV...

Hi there, Is it possible to use a small portion of the Flash memory during runtime (no JTAG connected) as a persistent storage (instead of using a eeprom). I know it is possible in the ARM from ST but what about the AT91SAM7S from Atmel? Thanks orc

Just got the USB version, eZ430-2013 Development tool, but It's not being rocognized by my PCs. Can anyone help? I just emailed TI, and while I wait for reply, thought I'ld ask here. I followed all installation instructions. When I plug it in USB, it's recognized as a MSP-FET430UIF JTAG device, then up pops the Hardware Wizard looking for a driver. I browse to where TI says to, but to no a...

Looking for any info about pinout of BCM6345 from Broadcom with embedded Linux, the board I have has a bunch of testpoints (suspect JTAG but it's not a standard layout) and a 4 pin connector which think might be a serial port (2x I/O, one GND and a 3.3V supply) which will allow me to watch the boot process. -- Clint Sharp

Hello! I'm examining and researching the bootloader and would like to debug it in order to watch the registers, memory condition etc. for understanding the process more deeply and detailed. Please, recommend any techiques for debugging bootloader code, I suppose I can't use gdb for this, may be I need a kind of JTAG or similar. Thanks in advance for any help! Hi! I have an application running on F1101a which I want to migrate to F2001 (I don't use all the I/Os and the lack of POR reset in F1101a is not a feature that I like). Now, I did all my firmware development under open source tools using mspgcc and their python driven tools to program MSP430 parts (I've used both the JTAG and the BSL). It was especially convenient for me since I'm usin...

When I look at the current data sheet, it says in the selection table that the 7022 only has 13 GPIOs. But I count 16 on the pin out drawing and in the pin list. Any idea why they say there are only 13? Is there some restriction on three of these pins that they can't count them as GPIO? I see that one is a JTAG TRST, one is a BM (boot mode) at power up time and one is a MRST output. Thes...

I've just realized that the box causing one of my shelves to bow down in the middle is a complete Xilinx ML403 PowerPC+FPGA evaluation kit, with the USB-JTAG adapter and all the other goodies that it originally included. It's vanishingly unlikely that I'll ever use it again. I guess I should list it on eBay; anyone have an idea what it's worth? Thanks.

Hello All, In the process of compiling a cost analysis there is an item that I haven't needed yet. So: What is the typical cost of having a distributor or manufacturer pre-program a flash device such as a micro controller, including blowing the JTAG fuse and if necessary blocking a possible bootstrap loader routine? Say, for 1000 devices at a time, or whatever quantity your experience...

Friends, For a current LPC213x project we purchased the IAR Embedded Workbench development kit (about $4k if I remember right) with a J-link USB-> JTAG. It's "ok", but it doesn't give me that warm and fuzzy feeling of complete trust. The UI behaves funky (resizing toolboxes by itself, suddenly refusing to set breakpoints, etc.), the compiler seems to be a bit buggy sometimes, and the C libr

Hi everyone, Im a senior undergrad. I obtained samples of the TMS470R1A256PZ from TI to play around with. However, seems like the only way of programming these things is thru a Jtag cable..which is way too expensive for me (the cable + the sw costs quite a packet, right?). Does anyone out here know of other ways of programming these things? Regards Mayank
