Hi, I have a microcontroller (ATMega128) and I want to connect it to internet. At first I need a ethernet controller(MAC & PHY ethernet). I have known some ICs: ENC28j60, CS8900 (3v), RTL8019A... I think CS8900A and ENC28j60 are better for my project. but I don't know which of them is better ? Is there anybody who has experience with them? As I am in hurry, I will be so thankful if y...

Hello folks. I have been trying to implement a 10BASE-T Ethernet interface and in so doing, I have parsed the relevant portions of IEEE 802.3. While the standard does a marvelous job explaining the intricacies of the abstract interfaces between the, IMHO, overly-redundant sublayers, I was left with a bunch of questions and I thought this would be a good place to ask them. First, what...

Hi all, I want to be able to use Ethernet in my projects but I'm so overwhelmed by its complexity that I don't know where to go. I've read and watch most of the information at microchip.com. I'm aware of the new PICs that have a MAC built-in and the ENC28J60. I'm also aware of the TCP/IP stack and the rest of the ... stuff (DHCP, ARP, etc.). The reason I say "I'm aware" is because I d...

romeshkulasekhara@gmail.com wrote: > Hi, > Is there a DSP/micro with capability to directly get connected to CRT/ > LCD display. I am also looking for something not quite like this, but along the same lines. We have a Windows application and would like a bare-bones cheap interface to a display via Ethernet. It would be Ethernet in, VGA (or even RCA) out, the only intelligence nec

We are developing a TCP/IP enabled embedded product and are looking for a 10/100 non-PCI Ethernet Controller for as close to $3 (budgetary pricing) as possible. We've found SMSC and Asix products as low as $8. Is there anything out there that might be cheaper?

(also posted to s.e.d.) We're considering a new product, a spectroscopy controller, that would need a fair hunk of data-moving power and gigabit Ethernet capability to talk to a host system. We would center it on a largish FPGA that would run the actual physics, but we still need supervision, self-test, local maintanance capability (maybe just RS-232) and the Ethernet stuff. Possibilitie...

Hi, I want to do some tests to find out how well and at what rate one might be able to transmit ethernet through a slip ring. I have created a fairly FPGA based random data generator with a trigger signal which I connect to a scope, and with infinite persistence on the scope, I can get an eye pattern on the scope. Doing this using RS-485 and other transceivers is working well and providin...

Hi All, Just wondering if anyone using the CSB337 has done any ethernet benchmarks? Preferrably through a TCP/IP stack. We are using uCOS-II but Linux (or any other OS) would be fine. We seem to be running into a bottleneck just moving data out of memory to send, I was wondering if this is normal or if we are doing something wrong. (We are seeing about 4.4 Mbps transerred out through ...

Has anyone had any luck locating some wifi module which is simple, i.e. does not want to do all the tcp/ip, just move packets ethernet like? A documented one, that is. There is a USB class "ethernet emulation" or sort of, any chances there is some wifi module being that and thus perhaps being usable for non-politbureau members (i.e. PC/phone makers)? Obviously I am looking for something more...

My project will involve multiple PC-104 modules with embedded Linux performing specialized tasks such as video processing, servo motor control, etc. These modules will need to talk to each other, and I am considering options such as CANOpen and Ethernet. It seems that the main advantage of CANOpen is in the way the packets are handled to improve latency. However I am not sure that we need...
